From the pastor . . .
1 John 2:12-14 describes the various stages of spiritual growth in the life of a Christian. Spiritual babies are those who have believed in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and as a result have their sins forgiven. That is where one starts when one becomes a Christian. Spiritual young men are those who are a) having victory over sin, b) are strong in their faith, and c) know the Bible well and seek to obey it. Spiritual fathers know God at a deep level.
Some people want to instantly become spiritual fathers and skip the serious study of the Bible. But one cannot jump from being a little child to a spiritual father. Others think that knowing the Bible makes them a spiritual father but that is not true. One must become a young man first before becoming a spiritual father. Spiritual fathers know the Bible and have moved on to know God. This is a life adventure.
Thus says the LORD, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me . . . (NASB) Jer. 9:23-24
Therefore, the Berean Bible Church is committed to teaching the Bible expositionally, in-depth, verse by verse, and chapter by chapter. Our goal is to help believers become spiritual young men and then spiritual fathers of the faith who know God deeply. Another mark of spiritual growth is a commitment to love and care for one another. Love and sound doctrine go together. We cannot grow without both. Come worship God with us on Sundays at 10:00 AM and join us in the journey of growing from little children to fathers of the faith. I look forward to meeting you.

Join Us After The Service
After the morning service we spend some time together with some refreshments. It is an opportunity to know one another better, express our love for each other, and get to know more about those we do not know very well.
As the pastor-teacher, I would welcome the privilege of talking with you for a few minutes.
May God bless you richly,
- John Calahan, pastor-teacher
